Start off the week well-hydrated! What percent of our body is water? ANSWER: C). 70%.

70% is huge! Your body is mostly made of water. That’s why it’s so important to put water back in it throughout the day.

Vital organs get water first. Skin last. So if you’re dehydrated, your skin suffers. And now that winter is upon us, skin needs all the moisture it can get.

The generic rule of thumb is to drink 8 glasses of water a day. But you actually need more than 8 glasses if you weigh more than 130 lb (59 kg). The amount you need is based on your body weight (see this post for a formula).

HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOU’RE HYDRATED ENOUGH?

Very easy way. Look at your urine. It should be COLORLESS and CLEAR. Not dark and cloudy. The darker the color, the more concentrated it is (there’s less water). Certain supplements color urine though, like B vitamins.

TIP – Sip throughout the day, say once an hour, rather than waiting until you’re thirsty. If you feel thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.
