Fat and water. That’s how I fed my dry skin today. From the inside out. I ate an avocado and a lot of peanut butter, both rich in Essential Fatty Acids. I also took some supplements (Omega-3 and Vitamin E) and drank a lot of water.

Fatty acids are a big help for dry or dehydrated skin. They feed the lipids in your skin. Lipids make up a huge part of skin (~50% of cell membranes plus the intercellular mortar between skin cells). When you feed skin with fatty acids, it becomes softer, stronger, and less dry.

So make sure you get enough (healthy) fat from food 🙂 If your diet lacks fat, it’ll show in your skin (dry, flaky, and dull).

If you have acne & oily skin, and you’re using acne products that dry out your skin, dietary EFAs will help you. And it won’t make your skin oilier.
