GLABELLAR LINES are the 2 vertical lines between the eyebrows. They look like the number ’11.’ So often nicknamed ‘The Eleven’s.’ I pay a lot of attention to mine (after nasolabial folds 🙂

These lines are motion wrinkles, the kind caused by repeated motions. Like frowning. With age, they get deeper and more visible.

The best way to prevent them is to treat them when they’re just forming (stage 1 in photo), before they get too deep. Once they become visible and acquire some depth, you’ll need Botox to treat those lines.

There are 2 things you can do topically:

1. Apply neuropeptides – These peptides inhibit muscle contraction. Neuropeptides mimic the polypeptides found in snake venom. They are sometimes called Botox mimics because they do the same thing as Botox (inhibit muscle contraction).

2. Apply collagen-boosting ingredients – There are a bunch. But the ones that are clinically proven to work are Vitamin C, retinoids (e.g. retinol, tretinoin), and collagen-boosting peptides.

And last but not least, try not to frown! The muscles on your forehead are STRONG. It’s hard to reverse their effects.

You can learn more about and see a list of some peptides here.
