The neck is an extension of your face, so you have to treat it just as well!

To keep your neck looking youthful or to reverse signs of aging you already have there, you need to apply skincare on the neck. Preferably every day twice a day (in the morning and at night).

It’s hard to find products made specifically for the neck. So it’s okay to use facial serums and moisturizers there. What’s important is getting age-fighting ingredients into the skin, keeping the neck skin moisturized so it doesn’t dry out, and protecting it from the sun (this is the most important one). Fortunately, you can achieve all of these goals with facial products.

Quality neck products will focus on specific problems of the neck area. For example, an excess of fat under the chin and jaws (fat tends to accumulate there with age), loose skin, sagging skin, and wrinkles. Neck creams will attempt to firm and tighten the skin. The really good ones, such as Revision’s Nectifirm (pictured), will help break up the adipose tissue (fat).

Firm Neck Essentials

1. ANTIAGING SERUM‬ (AM & PM) – For the neck, I like to use serums that are liquid-y because the neck is a larger surface area than the face, and a loose liquid is easier to spread over the whole neck quickly.

Mizon‬ Peptide 500 Serum is too runny for my face. (A drop rolls off too quickly from a finger, which I find messy) So I put a few drops into my palm, and rub over my neck. This is also an economical peptide treatment – price is less than $25 on a kbeauty site.

2. SUNSCREEN‬ (AM) – This Supergoop has become my favorite sunscreen for the neck because of its light texture. It’s not thick, so my neck doesn’t feel suffocated in hot summer weather. And it’s easy to spread quickly, but creamy enough to feel moisturizing.

3. NECK CREAM‬ OR FACE MOISTURIZER (PM)Revision Skincare‬ Nectifirm is my favorite neck cream. Peptide-rich cream that firms, tightens, and reduces the fat that forms under the chin and jaw with age. So it helps improve definition. One of the bestsellers in the Revision line. If you don’t have a neck cream, an anti-aging moisturizer is perfectly fine.

Hollie (@keikobabetoo) on Instagram offered the perfect reminder, which I love:

Bring It Down!

In other words, when you put serum and moisturizer on your face, bring it down to the neck afterward!

SKIN TIP

If a product doesn’t work out on your face, consider using it on your neck. It’s less sensitive than the face, so more products can work there. This way, you avoid wasting a product, and it feeds your neck!
