Do your eyes get irritated easily? Before you assume a product is irritating for your eyes, try this eye tip:

Apply your eye cream with a DIFFERENT FINGER or the OPPOSITE HAND than the finger/hand you use to apply other products.

A hidden source of irritation is accidental transfer. If you apply a serum or cream that has exfoliating ingredients or other “active” substances to your face, the residue of that product is still on your fingers. If you use those same fingers to apply eye cream afterwards, you can transfer that residue to your eyes.

I did this to myself last night, which reminded me to share this tip 🙂

Many products intended for the the face are not suitable for the eye area. The ingredients may be inherently irritating to the eyes. Or it’s in too high a concentration for the eye area.

EYE TIP

To minimize irritation to your eyes:

1. Use a different finger when you apply eye cream.

2. Use the opposite hand. This is the easiest option for me. You don’t have to remember which finger(s) you were using before.

3. Wipe your finger with a tissue before you apply eye cream.
