Critical Sun Protection Facts

The most important thing you must now is that there are 2 types of UV radiation that are harmful:

UVA

  • UVA is responsible for aging, causing damage to collagen & elastin
  • 95% of solar radiation is UVA, so there is 50 times more of it than UVB
  • UVA goes right through clouds and window glass

Because UVA is always present, you should wear sunscreen every day, even if it is a cloudy day.

UVB

  • UVB primarily causes burning
  • UVB is stronger during the summer and closer to the equator

Both UVA and UVB cause:

  • skin cancer
  • skin aging
  • burning
  • pigmentation

85% of skin aging comes from sun damage
